Overview

Colosseum Domus Aurea is a small vacation jewel located right next to the Colosseum and the Domus Aurea, from where emperor Nero used to rule the eternal city.

The apartment has just been fully refurbished. You enter the apartment from a small hallway. Entering you find a small lounge area right in front of you and on your left on a small mezzanine (only 20 cm from the floor) you will find 2 beds that in case of none use can be uses as comfortable sofas. The TV is also placed here.
Entering the next room you will find the dining table for 6 and on your left hand side the kitchen with a large walk in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped. From the dining room you can enter the master bedroom where you will find a double bed and a single bed. This room has a lot of character and antique and modern pieces of art combine very well with the rich wood on the floors.
The view from the apartment is very pleasant because you look out on the Domus Aurea park, a very nice hang out for a daily stroll or to play a game of (free) soccer with the local Italians.
The apartment is surrounded by nice bars and small restaurants and the famous church San Pietro in Vincoli is around the corner. Metro B brings you in no time to the Vatican or Spanish Steps.
There is no better choice if it comes down to price-quality and location.

Local area

This apartment is located right in the heart of the old city centre of Rome just a short distance from the Colosseum and Foro Romano.
The Colosseum, opened in 80 AD, is perhaps the most iconic of sight of Rome. For close to 2000 years the Amphitheatre has captured the hearts and minds of locals and tourists alike and is often considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. The Foro Romano is equally impressive, considered the oldest part of the city and home to several important Government buildings dating from the height of the Roman Empire. Spending a few hours walking around the Forum gives you an idea of the just how impressive the city would have been 2000 years ago.
Within walking distance of the apartment are other major Rome attractions including the stunning Trevi Fountain, one of the largest fountains in Rome. This stunning fountain stands 26 metres high and 20 metres wide and it is said that visitors should throw a coin into the fountain to ensure a return to Rome in the future.
Just a few hundred metres from the Trevi fountain are the Spanish Steps, the widest steps in Europe and something that must be visited on any trip to the city. From the bottom of the steps make your way to Piazza del Popolo, Northern Rome’s biggest piazza complete with an obelisk, lion sculptures, churches and a beautiful garden located just above.
Walking around this amazing city you will be confronted with historic sights on every corner and this apartment is in the ideal location to do just that. If you do need to travel further afield, the apartment is well served by the Metro.
